The Use of Models: Nineteenth-Century Church Architecture in Québec

This study draws attention to the phenomenon of a highly focused moment in history—wooden architectural models in mid-nineteenth-century Queebec used for a specific building type. Whether intended to explain a project to workmen, the parish committee, or a client, models were increasingly regarded as a necessary complement to drawings, even as possible substitutes.
