Alessandro Poli is a key figure in the Florentine Radical Architecture movement of the 1970s. His work spans art, architecture, design, and the applied arts, with a particular focus on jewellery and craft culture. His unconventional trajectory was shaped by the Interplanetary Architecture cycle developed during his time with Superstudio, and by his research into Extra-Urban Material Culture, exemplified by the figure of Zeno Fiaschi - a peasant and symbol of the self-sufficient designer, set in contrast to astronaut Buzz Aldrin. These ideas converge into a vision that links Earth and Moon, labour and imagination. This volume traces his oeuvre through drawings, photomontages, photographs, and archival documents, situating his work within Radical Architecture and its Florentine context.
